Patricia Dovell and Mark Jones, who’ve played together just once since their college days, won the Super Senior Pairs. The event is limited to players age 70 years and older.
A board off the pace in second were Linda Tipton and V. Jay Tipton of Irvine CA. Third place went to Bert Newman and Dennis Kasle.

Dovell, Gainesville FL, and Jones, Phoenix AZ, attributed their win to good, steady play. They were fifth following the second qualifying session, and entered the final round as the leaders. Old friends, they played together when they attended graduate school at the University of Florida in Gainesville in the early ’70s.
