Zhang wins Robot Individual
Guohui Zhang of Madison AL topped the field of almost 2600 players in the Spring 2022 NABC Robot Individual with a three-day average of 69.66%. Zhang, a mathematics professor at the University of Alabama in Hunstville, posted the top score for Flights A and B.
The is the first win for Zhang in the contest, who has posted several top-10 finishes previously.
The Flight C winner with 65.38% was Adam Deeb of Clearwater FL. Deeb tied for first place in Flight C in last summer’s Robot Individual.
Zhang stood in 10th place after the opening round and was ninth after the second day of play. A powerful 75.90% game on the last day of the contest pushed Zhang into the winners’ circle.
In second place for Flight A with 68.24% was Zachary Vedro of South Pasadena CA, and third place with 67.02% was occupied by Alex Perlin of Metuchen NJ. Perlin is a previous NABC Robot champion.
Second place in Flight B went to Kyle Rockoff of Gilbert AZ with 66.93%. Third in Flight B was Deeb.
Enhao Du of Newbury Park CA was second in Flight C with 63.83%. Third place was taken by George Kalb of Millington NJ with 62.43%.
