Samuel–Moll win Silver Ribbon Pairs
Winners of the Leventritt Silver Ribbon Pairs, Chris Moll and Russell Samuel.
Combining a solid carryover with two equally solid scores in the final of the Leventritt Silver Ribbon Pairs, Russell Samuel of Coram NY and Chris Moll of Cary NC won the four-session contest and became Grand Life Masters in the process.
First-time partners Samuel and Moll qualified 13th in Friday’s opening round and posted 59.41% and 62.03% scores in Saturday’s final to win the contest – limited to players born after Jan. 1, 1960 – by a board. Their four-session total was 1275.36 (38 = top).
In second with 1234.59 were Mark Itabashi of Murrieta CA and Neil Silverman of Fort Lauderdale FL.

For winners Samuel and Moll, this was their first NABC victory. Because each has more than 10,000 masterpoints, the win bestows the title of Grand Life Master.
