Birmingham-area players Mark Jones and Clay Hall are the 2018 Lebhar IMP Pairs champions. Their four-session total was 136.30. In second with 120.74 were Marty Seligman of Wynnewood PA and Eric Rodwell of Clearwater FL.
This is the first open NABC title for Jones, although he has previously won three limited NABC titles: the Mini-Blue Ribbon Pairs and the 0-5000 Mini-Spingold in 2010, and the 0-10,000 KO Teams in 2016.
This was the first NABC title for Hall also, and he became a Grand Life Master with the victory.
Jones and Hall qualified 55th in Friday’s opening round of the IMP Pairs, but their first-final result of 66.42 IMPs, combined with their carryover of 11.55, propelled them into the lead. Their second-session result of 58.33 IMPs was enough fo them to claim the win by more than 15 IMPs of runners-up Seligman and Rodwell.
