Dahl, Oshlag win Fast Pairs

Mark Dahl and Richard Oshlag, repeat winners of the NABC Fast Pairs.

Mark Dahl of Richmond VA and Richard Oshlag of Memphis TN successfully defended their title in the NABC Fast Pairs. Dahl and Oshlag were second in Saturday’s qualifying round, and they were solid in the two-session final, scoring 61.69% in the first session and 60.22% in the second.
Dahl and Oshlag have won three NABC titles as partners or teammates.
The winners’ four-session total of 1294.14 put them almost two boards ahead of runners-up Leo LaSota of Glen Burnie MD and Brad Theurer of Gaithersburg MD who finished with 1230.60 (top in the final was 38). LaSota and Theurer won the qualifying round, but score 59.26% and 53.85% in the final sessions. Overall results here.
