Dwyer, Huang win Nail LM Pairs

Winners of the Nail Life Master Pairs: Kevin Dwyer and Shan Huang.

 

Floridians Kevin Dwyer and Shan Huang dominated the final of the Nail Life Master Pairs to win the contest by almost two boards over runners-up Stefan Skorchev and Bogdan Vulcan. This is the seventh NABC+ victory for Dwyer, and the second for Huang. Most recently, both were members of the winning squad in the Freeman Mixed BAM Teams at the Summer NABC in Providence.

The winners began the event with a rough first qualifying session: They posted a 47.34% game. But they persevered in the second set, scoring 63.51%, to qualify in 28th position going into Saturday’s two-session final. The duo paired a 66.33% game in the first session with a 64.89% in the second, setting the pace in the final. Their four-session total with carryover was 1828.21 matchpoints.

 

Runners-up in the Nail LM Pairs: Stefan Skorchev and Bogdan Vulcan.

Runners-up Skorchev of Bulgaria and Vulcan of Sammamish WA finished with 1741.16 (51 = top).

In third with 1716.28 were Richard Oshlag of White Plains NY and Mark Dahl of Richmond VA.
