Super Senior Pairs champs Bruce Ferguson and Brenda Keller
Keller, Ferguson win Super Seniors
Brenda Keller and Bruce Ferguson won the four-session Super Senior Pairs, the NABC contest limited to players 75 and older. Keller and Ferguson, who have been life partners for 48 years, split their time between their homes in Las Vegas and Idaho.
In Sunday’s opening round, the winners averaged more than 57% to qualify second. Two solid sessions in Monday’s final – 54.29% in the first and 56.73% in the second – allowed the duo to grab the title. Their two-session total of 435.83 masterpoints put them two boards ahead of runners-up Phyllis Rakevich of Yuma AZ and Jessie Brunswig of Fountain Hills AZ who scored 409.63 (13 = top).
Keller and Ferguson have previously won an NABC title together, the 2007 Baze Senior Knockout Teams. Both are Grand Life Masters.
