Roger Lee and Wei Wang triumphed in the prestigious, six-session Kaplan Blue Ribbon Pairs, finishing about a half board ahead of runners-up Richard Pavlicek and Jim Munday.
Lee and Wang, who went into Thursday’s final in 39th place, shot to the top of the leader list with a 59% game in the first final session and a 62% in the second. Their six-session score with carryover was 1123.36 (35 top).
Lee, of Las Vegas NV, previously won the event in 2011, and now has three open NABC titles. This is Wang’s second NABC win. She lives in Shanghai, China.
Pavlicek, of Fort Lauderdale FL, and Munday, of Southaven MS, finished with 1107.78.
In third were John Ramos, of Los Angeles CA, and 15-year-old Finn Kolesnik of Ventura CA with 1075.07.
