Fireman wins Mixed BAM
In the Freeman Mixed Board-a-Match Teams, the Fireman squad (captain Phyllis Fireman of Chestnut Hill, MA, Jenny Wolpert of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Jessica Larsson of Sweden, Joris van Lankveld and Berend Van Den Bos of the Netherlands) qualified in 29th place for today’s two-session final. The team scored 18.5 in both final sessions to win the event with a score of 38.39. It is the first NABC+ win for Larsson.
In second place was team Hill (Joyce Hill of Saint Augustine, FL, Kevin Dwyer of Jacksonville, FL, Shan Huang of Jacksonville, FL, Cecilia Dwyer Rimstedt of Jacksonville, FL, Mikael Rimstedt of Sweden and Signe Buus Thomsen of Denmark), who qualified tied for fourth place. They dropped to eighth after an average first final session but had a strong last session to finish with a score of 37.94, narrowly edging out Tim Archdeacon’s team, who had a score of 37.11.
