London Bridge +1

In honor of the 30th anniversary of the death of my late cousin, David London, who died in 1968 of leukemia, I composed 12 bridge humor songs as a benefit for childhood cancer research. I put together a band of Gainesville Florida professional singers and musicians (Cathy DeWitt, Janet Rucker, Mike Cripe, Rob Rothchild, John Stephens, and myself), and we recorded the 12 original songs in a local studio, and performed them as the main entertainment at the Fall 1998 Nationals in Orlando. Our benefit CD, London Bridge, was offered for sale to Bridge players by the beneficiary “Stop Children’s Cancer” for nearly 20 years.

I have put these songs plus one called Boards of Fame (the only serious one) onto MP3 audio files, which are linked below.

The words and some background on the original 12 are provided on the PDF file.

I hope you enjoy these songs, and if you do, will consider giving a fitting donation to the ACBL Educational Foundation. Youth bridge is the future of the game we all love, as without enthusiastic new players, bridge as we know it will not be able to survive.
