New Life Masters

Carl Ginsburg of Blue Bell PA earned the last few gold points he needed to become a Life Master in Sunday’s Flight B Swiss Teams, playing with partner Helen Walker of Lafayette Hill PA and teammates Jim Doll of Norristown PA and Dave Drescher of Blue Bell PA.
Ginsburg simultaneously earned the rank of Bronze LM.

Roger Milton and Beth Milton of Blue Bell CA both became Life Maters playing in Wednesday’s Gold Rush Swiss Teams with teammates Dick Godshal and Kay Garrity of Lansdale PA.
The Miltons needed 7 gold points to achieve their new rank, and they earned 9 in the event.
 
 
Jody Sorrell of West Chester PA became a Life Master on Saturday. She was playing with Jeanne Thompson in the Daylight Gold Rush Pairs. She needed about 5 gold points a few days ago, got half of it on Thursday and the rest on Saturday.
 
 
 
 

Iris Siquiera of Virginia Beach VA is a new Life Master. Siquiera earned her gold card playing in the Wednesday-Thursday Morning Compact KO Teams with Joe Siqueira, Peter Haglich and Kathleen Haglich, all of Virginia Beach.
 
 
 
 
Kyle Rockoff of Buffalo Grove IL earned his gold card in Wednesday’s Hugh Ross Compact KO Teams when his squad won Bracket 3 of the event. Rockoff played with Philip McPeek of Chicago, Alexander Frieden of Brookline MA and Thomas Scruggs of Berkeley CA.
 
 
 
Playing in the Gold Rush Pairs on March 9, Nancy Robbins of Wilmington DE became a Life Master with partner Teresa Young of New Castle DE.
 
 
 
 
Susie O’Neil of Wyndmoor PA is another of the ACBL’s newest Life Masters. She earned her gold card playing with Nancy Tyson, also of Wyndmoor, in Wednesday’s Gold Rush Swiss Teams. Their teammates were Nell Mecray of Bryn Mawr PA and Pam Wilford of Villanova PA.
 
 
 
S. Gerald King of Rydell PA became a Life Master on Thursday. He was playing in the “Life is a Beach” Daylight Gold Rush Pairs with John Bravo. He needed 3 gold points at the beginning of the week, chipped away at that on Tuesday and got the rest Thursday.
 
 
 

Myrna Shervin of Philadelphia is a new Life Master and Bronze Life Master. Shervin needed 7.24 gold points to earn her gold card, and she picked up 8.28 playing in Tuesday’s Compact KO Teams. Her partner was Rich Murray, and her teammates were Fred Holdsworth and Tom Woolham, all of whom are from the Philadelphia area.
 
 
 
Robert Suter of Bel Air MD made Life Master on Wednesday playing in the Arnie Fisher Tuesday-Wednesday KO bracket four. He was playing with his father, Thomas Suter, and Mel Volmert and John Stefan. Suter needed about 8 points of any color and got them by getting to the final.
 
 
 
Ornit Grossman of Ithaca NY made Life Master on Wednesday playing in the Hugh Ross Daylight Open Swiss Teams. She was playing with Steve Pope, Edythe Krauss and Ellen Ryan. She needed 21 points when she arrived in Philadelphia but was down to less than 2 when she entered the Swiss, where her team placed 11th in B and fifth in C.
 
 
 

Pat Stadelmayer of Pine City NY needed .76 gold points to make Life Master, so with the Spirit of ’76 on her mind, she came to Philadelphia. She got it in Monday’s Retirement Planning Compact Knockout bracket four, playing with Bobbi Le Feuvre, Holli Mast and Stephen Mast. They came in third. Stadelmayer met Le Feuvre and the partnership desk in Kansas City last year and ran into each other by chance here and decided to play together again.
 
 
David Leavitt of Narberth PA made Life Master playing in the Phil Krauss Daylight Gold Rush Pairs on Monday with Sharon Goldman. He needed .70 gold points and got it placing 10th in the event.
 
 
 
 
Marian Sussna of New York City became a Bronze LM playing in Monday’s Gold Rush Pairs with partner Louise Dankberg, also of NYC.
 
 
 
 
Marshall Thomas of Nashua NH attained the rank of Silver Life Master on Sunday playing in Evening Side Game Series. His partner with Bud Leese of Amherst NH.
 
 
 
 

Carol Fountain of Chelmsford MA became a Life Master playing in the Saturday Gold Rush Pairs with Muggsie Rocco of Carlisle MA. Fountain earned 12.36 gold points in the event, erasing the 11.50 gold-point deficit that stood between her and her gold card.
 
 
 
 

 Jennifer Krueger of Baltimore MD became a Life Master playing in the Friday afternoon side game with Paul Gray of North Bellmore NY. Krueger needed just .97 masterpoints to earn her gold card, and the duo earned 2.28 in the event.
