Shi and Hu led the event from start to finish, scoring 66.12% and 57.65% in Friday’s qualifying sessions, 53.31% and 70.38% in Saturday’s semifinal sessions and 62.09% and 59.32% in Sunday’s final sessions. They finished with a score of 464.78, nearly two boards ahead of second place.
Manish Dixit and Sriram Datla, also of Naperville IL, finished second with 441.57.
While Shi and Hu’s previous wins came in two-day events, this is their first time winning a three-day event. They’ve only been playing together since October 2021. They each complimented their partner’s play.
“We’ve been lucky,” Hu said. “We made some mistakes but we always come back.”
